At M4C, in Perth, rooftop tents and awnings are popular 4×4 accessories that we fit for our customers.
There are many reasons why adventurers add a rooftop tent and awning to their 4WD, with the most common being that they are extremely convenient.
In fact, you can set up your rooftop tent and 4WD awning in less than a few minutes. That’s quicker than a swag, tent, camper or caravan!
A rooftop tent is a great addition to any 4×4 vehicle and you’ll appreciate it the minute you get into camp late and just want to go to bed!
There are several deciding factors when choosing a rooftop tent, including:
The weight you add to your vehicle, including a rooftop tent, can contribute to its GVM, which means it’s important to go for a lightweight option.
When it comes to size, a slimline and compact option will give you the flexibility to explore more uncharted and remote areas. Also consider how much space your rooftop tent will take up on your vehicle and when it’s at home and not in use.
Maintaining a budget when you’re excited about your new build can be tough. But cost may be a deciding factor for you. Compare your options, for example, the dollar value of a rooftop tent against a camper trailer or caravan, or the cost of your time when setting up a tent at the end of a long day of driving. At Midland 4WD Centre, we work with reputable brands and high-quality products, and our customers consider their rooftop tent as an investment in their comfort and a good night’s sleep!
The beauty of a rooftop tent is that it’s easy to use and quick to set up. As you are considering your options, always ask for demonstrations from the brands you like. If you drop into Midland 4WD Centre in Canning Vale, our team will happily show you how easy The Bush Company rooftop tents are to set up.
A heavy-duty 4WD awning is a useful addition to your 4×4 vehicle because in less than a minute it can provide shade from the sweltering sun and shelter from the pouring rain.
The awnings we incorporate into our 4×4 projects at Midland 4WD Centre are designed and made for the Australian conditions, so you can stay comfortable and protected whenever you head off the beaten track.
There are several considerations you should give when choosing the best 4WD awning for you:
When you’re adding a 4WD awning to your vehicle, think about how much coverage you will need. This comes down to who you are travelling with and how you will use your awning, for example, to sleep or to live under.
Again, weight will be a key factor in your decision because an awning will add to your overall GVM. Wherever possible, choose a lightweight option that is still strong and built for harsh conditions.
An awning is a 4WD accessory that will give you many years of coverage and relief (especially if you get caught in torrential rain!). While cost may be a deciding factor, carefully consider what it would be like to go out exploring without the shade and protection of an awning. It’s a necessity for adventurers heading off the grid.
This point alone may make your decision easier - how easy is the awning to set up and pack away? Setting up a freestanding awning, like The Bush Company’s awnings, is simple and quick because it doesn’t need poles and only takes a minute. Ask our Midland 4WD Centre team to show you a demonstration, you’ll be impressed!
At Midland 4WD Centre, we are the largest reseller of The Bush Company rooftop tents and 4WD awnings in WA. As our preferred choice in rooftop tents and 4WD awnings, we stand by The Bush Company because the products are lightweight, strong and built for Australian conditions (in their own factory).
The 270 XT awning sets new benchmarks for a freestanding awning in terms of strength, wind resistance and durability. The awning is 2.3m in length, weighs 27.8kg and can be easily fixed to a roof rack.
The Black Series MAX has a double-action opening roof, with the option of opening the tent as a clamshell or opening the second roof which provides 141cm of headroom at the rear and 137cm at the front of the tent. The second roof can be closed easily from the inside or outside of the tent and is firmly secured when closed with the catches on the sides and front.
In addition to the standard rear and side openings found on the Black Series, when fully open the Black Series MAX has an additional large opening at the front of the tent and two additional windows on the side of the canvas to give increased airflow and visibility from the tent.
Let the professional team at Midland 4WD Centre Canning Vale show you our range of rooftop tents and 4WD awnings – and how easy they are to use.
