The Ford Ranger is a great base for any travel, whether that is serious off-road adventures or just sort weekends away. It has plenty of power, thousands of options and accessories and is relatively cheap, even in these crazy times.
The M4C Ranger was built with a purpose in mind. It had to be able to be functional enough that it could be used as a shop car when needed but also capable enough that when Matt wanted to head out camping he and the family would have plenty of space.
The Shop aspect of the build meant that we didn’t have the luxury of building out the tub to hold things like draws, permanent fridges and big 12v systems. Instead, we left it very modular and basic, simply adding a Rhino Cab Aluminium Canopy from The Bush Company. This offered plenty of dry secure storage space, exactly what the vehicle needed most days of its life.
To improve the vehicles adventure capabilities, a simple 2″ lift from Outback Armour was added as well as a new set of 275/75/17s from Dick Cepek on Dirty Life 9305’s. All of these help improve the Rangers offroad performance without breaking the bank.
Under the hood, we put in a Direction Plus prefilter and a catch can to help ensure the engine’s longevity and make sure we didn’t run into any unexpected problems while out on the road.
Additional protection was also added in the form of an Opposite Lock front bar and sidesteps, offering a little bit more peace of mind for when it was taken on the more adventurous side roads and tracks.
The Ford Ranger was topped off with a Rhino-Rack Pioneer platform and Sunseeker awning offering some additional rooftop storage and plenty of shade.
The M4C Ranger is a solid example of how a little bit of work can turn your vehicle into a perfect allrounder.
