A throttle controller is a cost-effective solution to improve the control you have of your 4x4, allowing you better control over your throttle.
Modern vehicles have their throttles controlled electronically. Manufactures then program in the time it takes for the motor to receive this information and then react. For example, if you put your foot flat to the floor, it will take a few seconds before the throttle body is fully open.
When we add a throttle controller into the mix, however, we can overwrite this programming and get the vehicle to react faster or slower.
Faster is great when you are on the road and want you vehicle to react quickly to your input. However, slower may be beneficial when you’re offroad so any accidental foot movements can be removed and you don’t have unnecessary increases and decreases in power.

A throttle controller is a device that plugs in between the ECU and the accelerator. The controller then manipulates the input signal from your accelerator to open the throttle body faster or slower depending on the settings.
One of the biggest myths is that a throttle controller can increase the horsepower of your engine. While they don’t do that, they do give the car better and faster acceleration, which can make it feel more powerful and you may be forgiven in thinking it’s got more horsepower.
The main task of a throttle controller is to allow the vehicle’s engine to respond and accelerate faster. It also stops what’s called “pedal lag” (a jerking or jolting movement), which can happen when you accelerate quickly.
